This article is right on the money - I actually made a similar comment to my wife after watching bits and pieces of the tourney last week - before he missed the cut....
I used to do the same thing....but I was 12, ok maybe 13. I clearly remember golfing with my Dad on our little local course (I don't recall exactly how old I was, but I think high school age) and doing some of the very same things. My Dad calmly put his club in his bag and started walking toward the clubhouse. "Where are you going?" I asked, puzzled. "I'm not playing with you when you act like that" he calmly said, and kept walking.
That's when the game became more fun - right after that moment. Right after I quit taking it so seriously. Right after I quit throwing fits on the course with every bad shot. Now, that's not to say I don't get frustrated and still have my moments - that's golf. Why do you think it's famously been dubbed "A Good Walk Spoiled"? But not like I used to, and not like we see Tiger. Me personally, I think it's getting worse, and more ridiculous. Grow up.

Not buying it - sorry. I don't believe she "fell asleep" and awoke to find something other than she asked for. Also don't believe that she didn't agree to it up front. I don't think any reputable tattoo artist would change from "3 stars" to 56 without the client agreeing and the client was sleeping.
I just don't buy it at all. I think she thought it was cool - her Dad freaked, so she said she never agreed to it. Read closely - she wants to "keep the ones on her forehead" which if you look, is more than 3 too....not buying it.

I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or bang my head against the wall. Mark had this on his blog, but I feel the need to re-post vs. just link to him....
Read the caption and then look at the picture - see anything?!?!
That's unfortunate...

Regardless of your stance on this personally or politically, this isn't exactly fair and unbiased reporting. Don't get me wrong - I by no means think the press is fair and unbiased, toward either the right or the left, but this is a whole new low. Watch the short video - it's absurd.

This is a bunch of bunk. This article doesn't give the full recount of events like an article I read the other day, but you get the point.
Imagine this - you are a professional athlete in training for your sports biggest event. You return home from a training session and find a total stranger at your house who says they need to collect hair, blood, urine for a drug test. The people with you ask for the "tester" to show their credentials. The credentials are sketchy so everyone agrees to a validation of the credentials. In the meantime, the "tester" says it would be ok for you to go take a shower while everyone is waiting on validation. Re-read that.....the tester says it it would be ok for you to go take a shower while everyone is waiting on credential validation.
Everything gets cleared up, the tester is legit, you submit to all tests. Every single tests comes back negative for any illegal or banned substances.
Now the agency in charge of testing wants to penalize you for the 20 min delay and the fact that you took a shower. Are you kidding me????

I don't make a lot of really public political statements. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of political opinions and I banter them with a few friends once in a while, but this is getting a little absurd.
So, legislators sit in Washington D.C. ripping on banks/corporations and the media negatively attacks every move by those corporations regarding spending, salaries, bonuses, recognition events and corporate sponsorships of things such as golf tournaments but their "leader" does this?!!?!? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/03/10/study-pelosi-repeated-requests-military-aircraft/
What you won't see in the media or hear from your elected officials is all the good that some companies are doing, the companies that are doing just fine WITHOUT bailout money, the bonsuses/salaries that are getting cut and/or forfeited, the fact that many of these events or sponsorships were planned/created/agreed to several years ago, BEFORE the economy took a bad turn, etc, etc, etc....
At what point do the people pointing the finger realize that three fingers are pointing back at them and have to look in the mirror? When are they held accountable for how they appropriate funds, who they take money from, their salary, their lavish lifestyles, etc?

Anyone who knows me knows my passion for providing homes for people who can't provide it for themselves, don't have the means/resources, or just simply need some help. Whether it's building a home on a garbage dump in Juarez, Mexico, a Habitat for Humanity home here in Des Moines area, or soon to be Abod homes in South Africa, people should have a quality roof over their heads.
There's been a lot more reporting on this issue than included in this story, but here's the jist. The City decided to demolish these makeshift "homes" because they are "not up to code". Instead, I guess we'd rather have these people sleep outside in an Iowa winter with no shelter?
I'm sure there is passion, reason and logic on both sides of the argument. Mine happens to fall on the side of helping these people and letting them have a roof over their head, whether some council person thinks it's up to code or not.

That may not be your opinion, and that's ok. I'd be curious to hear better alternatives than just kicking them out into single digit wind chills.
